The patent pending “AlignAttach” From Leading Edge Attachments, Inc.® is an excavator quick change coupler alternative. The new device allows for attachment changes without the use or problems associated with quick couplers by simplifying the changing of attachments directly pinned to the machine.
Current quick change couplers add to the tip radius thus decreasing breakout force. Couplers are heavy, thus decrease lifting load and increase fuel consumption, and they are expensive. Hydraulic couplers are even more expensive and require hydraulic kits that can introduce contaminants into the system.
The AlignAttach is manufactured in USA using high strength alloy steel.
The price for a 20 ton excavator model (like a Cat 320) is currently $1,090 and it weighs about 50 pounds. One unit is currently available that will work for all machines with 80 or 90 mm diameter pins (30,000 to 80,000 pound class). More sizes will be available soon.
