While gray infrastructure has been the traditional solution, more and more communities are instead (or in parallel) implementing green infrastructure (e.g., green roofs, bioswales, etc.) to manage their rainwater where it falls. In this webinar, Bruce will begin with the fundamentals of green infrastructure –
what it is (and isn’t), how it works, and green infrastructure’s proven benefits. We’ll then take a whirlwind tour of the many green infrastructure approaches, solutions, and real-world applications (including: rain gardens, urban forests, bioswales, constructed wetlands, green roofs, green walls, permeable paving, water harvesting, etc.), and identify for each the key elements, applications, design considerations, and implementation best practices. Additionally, we’ll also take a look at the environmental (e.g., air quality, flood control, etc.) and cost-saving benefits for each green infrastructure solution, and how you can maximize these. And finally, we’ll outline how you can assess and select the best green infrastructure solutions for your site and integrate them effectively at your site.

At the end of this session, attendees will walk away with a robust understanding of the different green infrastructure solutions and how you can integrate these into your stormwater management plan.
