CASE Construction Equipment has announced the new E Series compact vibratory rollers. Available in both double drum and combination (front drum and rear pneumatic tires) configurations, these compact rollers are easy to transport and designed for working around tight quarters, curbs, structures and other obstacles.

Designed with a high curb clearance, no overhangs and narrow drum widths ranging from 39 to 54 inches, depending on the model, the CASE E Series compact rollers are ideal for small- to mid-size compaction applications such as driveways, walking paths, commercial developments and around existing structures.

The E Series features seven models and replaces the entire previous CASE compact vibratory roller line. Primary enhancements include a completely redesigned operator interface for intuitive operation and improved ergonomics. New control features include an electronic travel lever with an extended range of functions right at the operator’s fingertips, including RPM settings, drive settings, sprinkler system controls, parking brake and more. An automated sprinkling system reduces water use when the machine is in neutral.

A new operation mode selector allows the operator to select between three modes — loading, working and transport — in order to maximize machine performance and fuel efficiency. Operators are also able to choose between two drive settings; soft drive that delivers a smooth ride during asphalt compaction applications, and an optional hard drive setting that allows the operator to make swift turns, similar to a machine with a mechanical lever. An optional rear differential lock function is available on combi models.

The new models include:

  • DV23E Double Drum Roller: (33.5 horsepower; 4,920 pounds)
  • DV23CE Combination Roller: (33.5 horsepower; 4,600 pounds)
  • DV26E Double Drum: (33.5 horsepower; 5,440 pounds)
  • DV26CE Combination Roller: (33.5 horsepower; 5,180 pounds)
  • DV36E Double Drum: (43.9 horsepower; 8,290 pounds)
  • DV45E Double Drum: (43.9 horsepower; 10,340 pounds)
  • DV45CE Combination Roller: (43.9 horsepower; 9,520 pounds)

The E Series combines a compact size, excellent maneuverability and visibility with many of the same features found in larger compaction machines. Each machine delivers high centrifugal forces and frequencies at lower RPMs, making them more fuel-efficient. Selectable dual vibration frequencies further improve productivity and allow operators to dial the machine in to meet the specific compaction needs of the job.

Operators can also choose between either automatic or manual vibration engagement to meet their preference and to help avoid damage to the asphalt during starts and stops, while the offset tapered drums reduce asphalt tearing during operation around curves. The units come standard with a pressurized water system to ensure all-day water supply and consistent water spray to the drums.

E Series rollers are compatible with the CASE ACE Force intelligent compaction system—a technology designed to improve compaction quality while requiring fewer passes to reach target specs. This results in savings in time, fuel costs and machine maintenance – as well as avoiding pitfalls related to under- or over-compaction. Ace Force also generates reports for applications where exacting specifications and records of compaction performance are required.

Comfort & Visibility

E Series rollers feature an iso-mounted operator platform that minimizes vibration and reduces operator fatigue. A standard lateral-sliding seat provides operators with superior visibility to the drum edges on both sides of the machine.

Serviceability

Like all CASE machines, the new E series rollers are designed for groundline serviceability. All fluid ports, drains and service checkpoints are grouped on one side of the machine for simplified maintenance.
