AEM recognizes the ongoing impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on its members, their employees, the equipment manufacturing industry, and the markets they serve.

AEM has been working closely with Congress, the Trump Administration, and state and local governments to make sure they take legislative and administrative steps to mitigate the harm that the crisis is having on equipment manufacturers and support the association’s member companies. Throughout the pandemic, AEM’s top priority has been helping to ensure the health and safety of its members, their employees, association staff and industry partners.

In addition to providing a wealth of information and resources, AEM has published several articles aimed at helping the equipment manufacturing industry navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. In case you’ve missed them, here are 6 of the association's most popular and impactful articles from the past few months:

Minimizing Risk: Manufacturers Share Best Practices for COVID-19 Management -- For those organizations looking to either reopen or scale back their operations in the coming months, AEM member companies share actions and initiatives detailed in this article that can be implemented and passed along to suppliers and partners, so as to help ensure a successful transition.

3 Ways Manufacturers Can Continue Production During the COVID-19 Pandemic -- You can’t build a piece of equipment from home. However, the challenge of efficiently and effectively staffing a factory becomes much more daunting every day during this pandemic, with an emphasis on “self-quarantining,” social distancing, and avoiding groups of people. Ogletree Deakins’ Manufacturing Industry Group conducted a Manufacturers’ Roundtable Discussion a few months involving numerous manufacturers from a wealth of industry sectors to share ideas about how manufacturers can continue to operate in the face of this pandemic. This article compiles some of the ideas and practices identified in that discussion.

Lessons Learned: How Overseas Operations Guided Titan International’s U.S. Response to COVID-19 -- When COVID-19 emerged in places where AEM member company Titan International’s facilities are located – most notably China, Italy and Spain – company officials were not only quick to respond, they applied lessons learned from those experiences to combating the pandemic once it reached the United States. This member profile piece chronicles Titan’s efforts to overcome COVID-19, both domestically and abroad.

How COVID-19 is Changing How Companies Communicate -- During a recent AEM Public Affairs Working Group meeting, several leading equipment manufacturers shared best practices about the new ways they’ve had to communicate in response to COVID-19. This article takes their answers, distills them and identifies several valuable takeaways.

How to Connect During Crisis: Email Marketing and COVID-19 -- The COVID-19 crisis has changed just about everything – including (but not limited to) marketing. Many brands are using email as a nimble, personal tool to reach out to, reassure and remind audiences they are here for them. But while audiences have more time to open and read emails, they also have different needs. This blog, which comes courtesy of AEM service member company Swanson Russell, how email marketing looks – and what’s working – in this new era.

Ag Economic Outlook: The Impact of COVID-19 on the Remainder of 2020 -- “Trying to figure out the true extent of COVID-19's impact is like staring into a deep, deep mist,” said AEM Director of Market Intelligence Benjamin Duyck. What is known, however, is the COVID-19 pandemic has stifled a considerable amount of economic activity while also forcing changes in consumer behavior. A trickledown effect has reached virtually every corner of the ag industry – only the "trickle" has been more like a mudslide.
