Marvin Goldenberg, founder of Trucks & Parts of Tampa and credited with being the first person to offer reconditioned refuse trucks to a national audience, has been named to the National Waste & Recycling Association Hall of Fame.
Goldenberg started in business in 1950 and became involved in the waste industry in the 70’s when he began buying surplus fleets of garbage trucks and refurbishing them to resell. Goldenberg was ahead of his time when it came to green initiatives, recycling and protecting the environment. He was one of the first to incorporate methods to collect waste oil and contaminants, leading to Goldenberg being presented with a National Beautification Award for business, presented to him in 1966 by then First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson. Goldenberg went on to found Trucks and Parts of Tampa in 1978, while maintaining his original location near Richmond, Indiana.
“My father was an innovator and a pioneer. He had the foresight to provide the waste and recycling industry with quality refurbished trucks and changed the face of the used garbage truck market,” said Bruce Goldenberg, CAO of Trucks & Parts of Tampa.

The rental waste collection truck business didn’t even exist until Marvin recognized the need. Today, this business thrives as an integrated part of Big Truck Rental.”
Trucks & Parts of Tampa continues to build upon the foundation Marvin established through hard work and an entrepreneurial spirit.
“Marvin’s contributions over the years have been plentiful and I know from first-hand experience that his efforts have benefited many within the industry,” said Bruce Goldenberg, adding that he was pleased to see his father honored in this way.
