May 13, 2014

Fenton, Mo. (May 6, 2014) ““ Luby Equipment Services is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The company was originally founded as Machine Maintenance, Inc. in 1974 to repair heavy industrial equipment. Carl Walchshauser and his team of technicians repaired and serviced the equipment in many of the factories throughout Missouri and Illinois.

Today, Bob Luby is president and owner of Luby Equipment with nine locations in four states, representing some of the finest heavy equipment brands available. Luby Equipment has three divisions that sell, rent and service equipment to the construction, the oilfield and the power generation market.

“I joined Machine Maintenance in 1976 when we were awarded the Gardner Denver dealership for their industrial compressors,” says Bob Luby, president and CEO. “We have gone through many evolutions of product offerings and markets, but the common thread throughout all these years has been our emphasis on excellent aftermarket service. I am especially grateful to the Luby family of employees who are the heart and soul of the company.”

The construction division has expanded to six locations through acquisitions and branch additions. The first acquisition was Bistate Machinery, the Fiat Allis dealer, in 1989. Three years later, Luby purchased Case Power & Equipment of Fenton and Cape Girardeau, Mo. Other branch locations followed in Quincy, Springfield, and Caseyville, Ill. and in O’Fallon, Mo.
