International Tolling Association Elects 2015 Officers and Directors to Lead Industry Into Critical Year for Transportation Funding Debate

WASHINGTON, DC — The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association’s (IBTTA) has elected five officers and six new board of directors to begin serving on January 1, 2015. The election took place at IBTTA’s 82nd Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas. The meeting was attended by nearly 1,000 transportation leaders from more than 20 countries to discuss innovative practices, policies, technologies, funding options and business models transforming mobility for drivers worldwide.

The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) is the worldwide association for the owners and operators of toll facilities and the businesses that serve them. Founded in 1932, IBTTA has members in more than 20 countries and on six continents.

“The tolling industry is on the cutting-edge of funding transportation infrastructure around the globe,” said Patrick D. Jones, Executive Director and CEO of IBTTA. “As the congressional surface transportation patch is set to expire in May 2015, Congress once again addresses a need for a long-term Transportation Reauthorization bill and tolling is increasingly being utilized by states and localities, our new leadership team comes on board at a critical juncture for the industry. Tolling and user-financed based transportation funding continues to be a proven, safe and reliable option to support infrastructure development.”

The newly elected 2015 IBTTA Officers include:

President: Javier Rodriguez, Miami, Florida; Executive Director, Miami-Dade Expressway Authority;

First Vice President: Earl J. “Buddy” Croft III, Jamestown, Rhode Island; Executive Director, Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority

Second Vice President: Emanuela Stocchi, Rome, Italy; Responsible for International Affairs, Associazione Italiana Societa Concessionarie Autostrade e Trafori

International Vice President: Malika Seddi, Paris, France; Director of International Affairs, Association Professionnelle Autoroutes et Ouvrages a Peage (ASFA)

Immediate Past President: Mike Heiligenstein, Austin, Texas; Executive Director, Central TX Regional Mobility Authority

Javier Rodriguez will serve as the President of IBTTA in 2015. He previously served as the 1st Vice President of the association.

  • Anthony Yacobucci, Chief Engineer, Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission
